Fine Art - Finding Fine Art
No doubt, there are many fine art museum houses around the world,
each having works of art that are incomparable, and which draw many thousands,
if not millions, of visitors each year.
One such museum that you can visit is the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts. It
opened its doors to visitors way back in 1860, at which time it was known as the
Art Association of Montreal. Montreal is well known as a city where fine arts
are much admired, and where there are many art collectors. Art has flourished in
this city in Canada even dating back to the time when the city was ruled by the
French, making it one of the most important fine arts cities in North America.
The new Montreal Museum of Fine Arts has taken inspiration from London’s
Victoria and Albert Museum, another leading fine art museum from around the
world, and after starting off small, this wonderful museum has gone on to
collect some very famous, and also encyclopedic, works of art. It is currently
located on Sherbrooke Street, and as late as 2001, the museum managed to raise a
lot of funds for exhibitions, which will enable it to go international with its
exhibitions in the near future.
Another one of the very famous fine art houses around the world is the National
Gallery, London that has some of the finest paintings from Europe, while the
Victoria and Albert Museum has the largest collection of decorative arts
anywhere in the world. The National Gallery was established in the year 1824 by
the House of Commons which set aside a sum of fifty-seven thousand pounds for a
collection of pictures by John Julius Angerstein. When the public began to
criticize the gallery for being inadequate to house fine works of art, it was
decided to build a gallery at a site in Trafalgar Square in order for the rich
and well-to-do to gain access to the finest collection of art in London.
Also, while in London it would be a great folly to miss out on visiting the
Victoria and Albert Museum, which has a mission of affording every visitor much
enjoyment of various works of art, and even allow one to explore new cultures,
and maybe inspire further flowering of art which should certainly contribute to
the growing contemporary art scene.
Though there are many fine art museum houses around the world, one would be well
advised to visit Amsterdam if only to visit one of the best fine art houses
around the world which is the Rembrandt House Museum. This is the home in which
Rembrandt lived from 1639 for nineteen years until 1658, and which is a notable
two-story building that was remodeled considerably in 1627-28.
And, in France one cannot help but pay a visit to one of the best fine art
museums around the world, the Louvre Museum in Paris. The Louvre probably has
the most number of visitors, being one of the oldest and also largest and of
course most well-known fine art museum houses around the world. This fine art
museum has a history of artistic as well as historic conservation, and it owes
its large size to the fact that it was once a royal palace. Today you can see
many famous artists’ works including those of Leonardo da Vinci whose famous
Mona Lisa is safely kept here, as well as many other well known artists whose
works are much admired.
So, if one is looking for fine art museum houses around the world, there is so
much to choose from and so much to admire that it would take several years to
just skim the surface. However, with modern technology, the need to actually
travel abroad and view the art masterpieces at different museums around the
world is not as essential as it once was, because most of the well known fine
art museum houses around the world have an online presence that allows you to
view everything without so much as stepping out of the confines of your own
home.
